Sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. Dog friendly / family friendly. You gotta drive to get here. This is where the locals go, and where visitors come to get away from the touristy-ness of Waikiki and Honolulu. No bathroom, so bring your own TP. No food, so BYO as well! Stop at the local grocer on your way there, pick up some... More

This beach is located at the end of the made road heading north on the western coast of Oahu. It's well worth the visit if you have a car. Crystal clear water and only a gentle current taking you along the beach, not out to sea. Lifesavers are present for advice. Beach gets deep quickly, so supervision of kids a... More

This beach at the end of Farrington Highway is certainly worth visiting. It is never busy but the surf can be good and the rugged coastline is beautiful.

This is a nice beach all the way at the end of the road. Nice place to look at stars, watch the sunset, or go for a swim. I just wish it were a lot closer. I'd prefer some other beaches, since you don't have to drive as far, but even the drive out there is nice.

Beautiful views of the sunset. Enjoy the ride to the most western point where the road ends and chill on the beach while you watch the sunset.

Great alternative to the crowded waikiki Beach. Take an umbrella because there is now shade. The waves are strong and big so be careful. You can watch there sunset. The only problem is the traffic while comming back to Honolulu. We were there twice and always were stocked on the road.

Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu....Makes you remember you're in Hawaii...if you have a rental car and some extra time - take the time to visit. Not the safest beach to visit (at least the surf was up when we were there) but a lovely place to enjoy nature....safe to get your toes wet but... More

This beach is beautiful as well as being away from it all. We visited in June and it was quite windy and impossible to keep an umbrella up. The only thing I didn't like about this area was the amount of trash left along the road and parking areas.

Want a gorgeous public beach all to yourself? Try here! I drove as far as possible on the this road & was amazed to only find a handful of other people on the beach. Next time I'll be better prepared with food, water, towel, book & chair to spend all day!

Please indicate if this review was helpful so I know what to review in the future! On our trip to Oahu this month we hiked Yokohama Bay Trail aka Kaena West (this hike), Diamond Head, Monoa Falls, Kaena North and the Lanikai Pillboxes. We did Kaena from the west as our first hike. Of the hikes mentioned, we would consider... More
