We stopped by the Stell Newman Visitor Center after visiting Asan Beach. In hindsight, we should have done this stop first. Though it is small, the visitor center is packed with information. There is an informational video when you first enter and the displays throughout the center are highly interactive. The park rangers were super helpful providing information, maps, and... More

Loved all the information shared with us. My husband is a history buff but he learned so many new facts and loved all the stories. They have many movies of events too. The staff was very helpful! We plan to visit again before leaving the island.

This visitor center is the main orientation to the Park which has several sites including the Asan Overlook on Nimitz Hill which has a memorial to the various groups wounded, killed or incarcerated in WW II, Asan Beach where the US troops came ashore and others. The visitor center has a 7 minute orientation film and then many displays with... More

The visitor center was named after the park's first superintendent, T. Stell Newman. The park which is now a museum that exhibits pieces of Guam history. Interactive exhibits welcome you as you go around inside the Visitor Center. Gripping personal war stories, museum artifacts with multiple language support. Aside from the exhibits, they have a new area in the center... More

The place is small but very informative. There was a 10 minute film that you could watch about the Japanese invasion of Guam and its effects. At the end of the film, my daughter turned to me and said that it was so sad. She said that nobody should start a war anymore. There was a midget submarine near the... More

One of the best places on-island to learn about Guam's history, for free. See impactful, well-defined exhibits in a relatively small facility. Facility is right outside the main gate of Navy Base Guam. Highly recommend watching the movie and checking out the exhibit with the map of Guam that utilizes lasers to show various military unit's progress during the battle... More

The movie was great. The highlight of the museum is the interactive display showing how Guam was taken by the Japanese and then re-taken by the US.

Just off the highway near the Naval Base entrance is the Stell Newman Visitor Center, its the building with the Midget Submarine outside. Inside is a compact but interesting collection of displays and interactive exhibits detailing the recent history (mainly) of Guam. There is also a short film that encapsulates this recent history that puts a lot of what one... More
