On February 12, 1809, Abraham Lincoln was born in a one-room log cabin, similar to the authentic 19th-century cabin preserved here.

This was a great place to visit. The stairs up to the monument were closed on our visit, so we couldn't get a great picture of them, but it didn't lessen our enjoyment one bit. The trails and information around are interesting and beautiful. Great job setting up this monument.

We were driving through the area when we saw the entrance sign. We did a u-turn and visited. I would have rated a 5 for history buffs, except there was major renovation of the memomorial and visitor center restrooms. There is a nice visitor center to tour, nice walk through the grounds, the memorial has a era refurbished log cabin... More

Visited in April 2017 and there is much construction going on for the summer tourist season, so we were unable to walk up the 56 steps to the memorial, instead taking a wooden walkway around to the back. The 56 steps represent the 56 years of Lincoln's life. The cabin inside is not the original cabin of Lincoln's birth but... More

Not all that much here. A pleasant visit with knowledgeable staff. I don't know that I would drive too far to get to this place but if you are driving nearby it is worth a stop.

My son and I stopped here to break up a long drive North. The site is a little way off the highway but well worth the trip. The Junior Ranger program kept my son engaged for over an hour. He enjoyed learning about Lincoln and seeing the cabin. I highly recommend this National Park.

My wife and I are history buff so with this being only a short drive from our original destination we had to stop and see it. Your journey here begins with a short film presented in the visitors center. After that you exit to a path to very first Lincoln monument built in America. (The stairs are closed right now... More

This park, holds some of my clearest, best memories, with my grandmother before she died. We enjoyed walking the trails, enjoying the scenery of the fields and forests around us. We enjoyed seeing the amazing spring, and going for ice cream at the Nancy Lincoln Inn. We saw the birthplace and it stunned me into silence. It was majestical. I... More

This historic site has a nice visitor center with exhibits, 15-minute film and gift shop. The memorial is nice and contains a replica of the cabin where he lived his first years. The spring they used for water is still nearby. Takes about an hour depending on how you catch the film.

This is the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln - that in and of itself makes this stop a must do. On top of that, it is absolutely beautiful. We stopped on a rainy day and still wanted to walk the steps of the memorial and stop in to see the "symbolic" log cabin inside the memorial. The Sinking Springs area was... More

We were headed home from Mammoth Cave when our 7yr old spotted a sign for this on the highway and asked if we could stop. Sure, why not!? I'm so glad we did. Our kids had a great time leaning more about Abraham Lincoln and earned a junior ranger badge in the process. The visitor's center really has a lot... More
