Booked a sunset tour with this company and couldn't be more pleased! There were four of us: my husband & myself, both in our fifties along with our daughter, 24, and son, 17. The others had kayaked before, but I had never and none of...More

Wonderful trip through the Islands off Bar Harbor, stopping at Rum Island for about 40 minutes. Our guide, Nick, was wonderful, and the other couples (12 of us in all) were all of comparable abilities, which was good for us, since we are seasoned kayakers....More

We loved our sunset kayak tour as did our two teens, who initially grumbled about going on the tour, though you don't stay on long enough to see the sun actually set. They are restricted time wise by local regulations, we were told. It didn't...More

What a helpful crew. Safety was very important. Tour was amazing. They give you a nice long time out on the water and lots of information about the geography and biology of the area. Everyone working was friendly and upbeat. Worth the money!

I spent 5 days in Bar Harbor in with my 27 year old daughter in June 2016. She planned all of our excursions. This trip was by far the best! We have both done ocean kayaking before. It was great to be out on the...More

We had never done kayaking before and we are senior citizens so we were a little nervous about how we would do. Our guide, Emily, helped us get into the gear and we waddled to the van for our ride to the put in point...More

This was one of our favorite excursions while visiting Bar Harbor. Our guide Morgan was outstanding. She was very knowledgeable about the area and kayaking. She made the trip even more fun. Paddling around the islands was a great way to end our vacation. Such...More

Brian, of Coastal Kayaking tours, gave us one of the best kayaking trips we have been on in Maine. We saw Loons, Ieder ducks, harbor seal, and for a special treat a small pod of Harbor Porpoise , which are in fact a small whale....More

We don't believe sea kayaking has to be a character-building experience. A leisurely paced trip is often the best, and it sounds as if you got a wildlife lallapalooza. Thanks for the nice words.

Hubby and I enjoyed this tour. We love kayaking but since we were unfamiliar with the area, we decided on a guided tour. However, know that the tour caters to people who are not physically fit and/or have young children. If you kayak regularly, be...More

We're glad you had a good time. We do often have people on tour without previous paddling experience, so we try to move at a pace that's comfortable for everybody. Thanks for the positive response.

Thanks for your kind words for our sister store, Acadia Bike. Many people don't know that we have a half-day rate and are surprised when they return and we voluntarily give them money back. That's the way we like to do business!

We will be visiting Bar Harbor late Sept. sailing on Royal Carribean. We noticed there was only 1 time for the kayaking on their excursions. I am interested in the kayaking, but my friend who does not swim, is a little nervous. We are in our 60s and in good health. Is this easy enough to learn and are we in shallow water? My fear is not with the water but holding everyone if I cannot steer fast enough :) Thanks!

Our tours are geared towards people without prior experience. The rudder-equipped kayaks are easy to steer. You will be fine!
