Very informative tour, concluded with great beer. History of the brewery, how the "steam " became part of the name, and how the beer is made. Excellent time.

Great behind-the-scenes, no-holds-barred in-depth look at the world of artisan micro-macro-brewing at its best! Lots of history on the origins of craft brewing in San Francisco which was specific to the area. Plus, beer at the beginning of tour! Full access to personal guide and brewery for 2 hours, 1 of which is solely for drinking their delicious product and... More

My husband was excited to go to Anchor to hear and see about the steam beer process. I had never even tried Anchor beer. At the start of the tour we were given a sample and a history lesson and I liked both. The tour guide/brewer definitely knew what he was talking about and was cool. We got a tour... More

The tour was presented in a very thorough manner with a detailed introduction and history of the company. Our guide, Joey, was excellent and very professional in his presentations together with some humorous anecdotes. His description of the process steps gave an excellent understanding of manufacturing methods. His description of each beer was excellent as well.

When a producer has been in business for so long, there are a lot of stories to be told. The guides here tell them well, and the tastings are perfect. It is a bit pricey, but this is San Francisco!

I had an afternoon in San Francisco and decided to take the tour. It was $20 but well worth it. The brewery has been there since then gold rush. It starts with a glass of the Steam beer then a tour of the brewery. The guide was very knowledgeable. At the end there was about 1 hour to try the... More
