Experience the Exploratorium, a hands-on museum of science, art, and human...

Experience the Exploratorium, a hands-on museum of science, art, and human perception that's dedicated to the excitement of experimentation, the pleasure of discovery, and the power of play. Indulge your curiosity in over 600 exhibits-indoors and out-and explore eye-opening ways to understand the world around you. Don't miss the iconic Tactile Dome, where you can take an interactive excursion in total darkness using your sense of touch as your only guide (be sure to make a reservation in advance). There's also a unique museum store plus two delicious places to eat: the SeaGlass restaurant, which has a stunning Bay view, and the Seismic Joint cafe. Located at Pier 15 along San Francisco's Embarcadero between Pier 39 and the Ferry Building, the Exploratorium is easy to get to by public transportation (the F-Market & Wharves Historic Streetcar stops out front and it's a ten-minute walk from BART or MUNI) plus there's parking nearby. Tickets are available online (recommended) or at the door.

From nature to outer space, the Exploratorium is the most inventive and interesting place in the city. There's so much to see and do that you can get lost for a full day there. Don't miss the planetarium. It's a must see.

Be a kid again as you involve your senses in the Tactile Dome or enjoy your grownup self (18+ years old) at After Dark Thursday Nights. Science and art join hands to give you a transformational learning experience.

Due to the nature of the museum being a very touch and see experience, there are a lot of children here. If you are wanting to enjoy the museum without children running around, the museum offers an adult-only evening once a week. Exhibits are worth checking out as it is the only museum in SF that is a true experience.

I hadn't planned on writing a review since it had so many good ones already, but its just that good! I came with my kids (7&8) in July and we had a great time. We could have spent the entire day at the Exploratorium! When we first walked in, a few of the exhibits were the same or similar to... More

The Exploratorium was so much fun for everyone from our fifteen-year-old to our 11 year old including ourselves. Everyone had a great time there's so much to do and see and lots of Hands-On activities We also ate at the restaurant which was very good, although a little bit expensive. Plan on spending at least three or four hours here.... More

My 4yo son and I had so much fun here for hours! We probably only saw 50% before it started getting dark and we had to leave. Highly recommended for kids

My husband and I went to the Exploratorium as part of the San Francisco City Pass. We loved it, it was so interesting and so many different things to see and do. I highly recommend a visit.
