Maybe it's me, but when I mentioned San Fransisco, not many who have visited mentioned this place, but it was our favorite place. Food, treats and books. I believe I visited this place everyday. This first day was for food. The second day was to shop for kitchen gadgets (Sur la table) and a bookstore. The third was to try... More

Love coming to the Ferry Building to peruse all the different stalls, restaurants, shops, etc. Always wishing my stomach were bigger than it actually is with all the tempting tastes and aromas. The marketplace here offers something for everyone. Cheese lovers will love the cheese shops, the carnivores will love the meatshops and Gott's (for burgers and milkshakes and softserve... More

At the sea side end of the famous Market St. stands one of SF icons - the Ferry building with its distinctive and elegant clock tower, constructed after the famous Giralda bell tower in Seville. One can only imagine the importance of that place 100 years ago when there were no bridges and all traffic in the bay was served... More

We strolled through this building on a saturday when they had a big food market around the building. We did buy some fruit and jam and enjoyed the crowds. Was well worth a visit.

Here's the place you should come to for the amazing selections of food, drinks, and specialty stores. It's all indoors so the day we went it was raining but we were dry. You could easily nosh your way up and down the marketplace. And there's a huge Sur La Table that was having amazing sales!!

When visiting San Francisco, our family loves to spend time wandering through the Ferry Building Marketplace. You can make an afternoon of sampling delicious goodies and then ship anything you like home. Favorite stops include: Cow Girl Creamery, Rancho Gordo Beans, and Far West Funghi. The folks at Hog Island Oyster Co. know what they're doing and serve up platter... More

The Ferry building shops are great. Head to Blue bottle for a great coffee. Food for all tastes can be found throughout the building.

We went there as soon as we arrived on our first night and almost everything was closed. Visited later during the week when shops and restaurants were open and it was really not all that exciting. I wouldn't recommend this, especially with everything else in this great city.

Every time I go to San Fran the Ferry Building is a must visit spot for me! I especially love the views from the pier and having oysters and beer at Hog Island Oysters.

The Ferry Building has something for most tastes from fresh fish and produce to pottery, kitchen goods and coffee shops. Whether you're in the mood for a refined meal or casual take away, you'll find it here. The Saturday Market is a must visit-- lots and lots of vendors with everything from pastries and breads to specialty sodas and handmade... More
