This part of the California Coastal Trail connects Lands End to the Golden Gate Bridge. If you're starting at the bridge, go to the parking lot on the Marin side of the Golden Gate bridge. Go across the bridge, take the exit to Sausalito, and then make a left right after, go under 101 and toward Hawk Hill. This section... More

I like to walk here with women or with friends when I can because the view is pretty and it makes me look macho.

On the spur of the moment, we decided to avoid the crowds at Golden Gate Park (Bay to Breakers Run) by checking out the Coastal Trail and were not disappointed. It was not crowded and we were able to enjoy the wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean and Golden Gate Bridge in a peaceful setting. The trail also took us... More

We went for a walk along the Coastal Trail on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. The sun was warm and the cool breeze made for an ideal combination. We weren't going for the aggressive hike, just a nice casual stroll, taking some photos along the way. The views to the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge are beautiful and it's a... More

Exploring the coastal trail was a great way to start off our visit to SF. We started our walk at the Cliff House and Sutro Baths and I quickly fell in love with the story of millionaire Adolf Sutro who bought up 22 acres of land in the 1880's to provide a beautiful area of recreation for the public. He... More

Such amazing views! The ruggedness of the land, the roiling water, the tang of the salt air, and the swirling flocks of pelicans made this such a special event. And it's on daily! Enjoy!

Watch the surf hit the rocky shore through cypress trees and winding, twisting paths, this trail offers a great way to see the city from afar but still within easy reach. Surprisingly natural experience in this man-made jungle.

Take the 38 Geary bus to The Seal Rock Inn. Sutro Heights Park is right there. There are brilliant iews fromthe park that overlook the vista of Ocean Beach. Then you can cross the road and visit the Visitors Centre and walk the Coastal trail back along the coastline towards the GG Bridge. I'd advise proper walking shoes as there... More

When I first read about this hike, and its location, I was not expecting something as nice as this. This was a wonderful hike that anyone could make it as short as you want to as long as you want. We decided to start at the Cliff House and walked all the way across the Golden Gate Bridge and back.... More
