Once you get past the grueling hike up the hill, this is one of the most beautiful places we went in SF. We paid to go up the tower and had a pleasant experience looking at the 360 degree views.

Great place to check out the city from above. Amazing photo opportunity. Check it out. On a clear day you can get the most beautiful panoramic pictures of the entire city.

We arrived midmorning. It is a pleasant place, and the views from the base of the tower are nice. It took about 45 minutes to get up and down the elevator. I liked it, but not sure that it was worth he wait. Others might...More

Challenge yourself if you are in great to moderate physical shape. There are about 700 steps and is a steep climb. The view from Coit is a good one.

I would leave car or public transportation. Rather take a hike. The walk to Coit tower is more fun and scenic.

I think there's a Muni bus that goes up to Coit - or if you come early you can drive up and there's limited parking at the top. But we elected to walk through China town and all the way up that side and down...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
