No need to convince anyone! its a beautiful bridge and a must visit! Make sure to drive on the bridge and go to the other side and drive up the mountain for a better view! There are no Toll Charges to use the bridge so...More

Very cool. On Marin County side there is a pullout viewpoint that gives a spectacular view of the bridge and bay. You can’t go to Frisco and not cross over the Golden Gate!

I'm sure is been said a million times ... this bridge is amazing. See it by sunrise and sunset and from different angles and locations to truly appreciate the views and architecture. And remember to take the selfie stick.

We took the hop on and off bus across the bridge, it is so iconic with San Fran, we took some great photos. The weather can be really cool and windy so I'd wrap up.

There are many July 4th events in SF - best to check the SF tourism tips site for specifics - Pier 39 and aquatic park are the venues for lots of activities and the fireworks.

We hired bikes and cycled over, the advantage being we were able to stop and take photos of the views of San Francisco. When you get to Sausalito you can have lunch before getting the ferry back but be sure to queue early... More

Wish I could answer your question about public transportation but there were hundreds of people walking across when we drove over it. It must be a beautiful walk ... wish I had had the time to do it!
