We had a lovely sunny day to walk the bridge and see San Francisco from afar. We were dropped off at on San Francisco side by "City Sightseeing San Francisco" and caught the bus back for a tour of Sausalito.

When visiting San Francisco you must drive, walk or cycle the Golden Gate bridge... it's much grander and longer than anything you see in pictures or movies.

One of the most "California" things you can see. Sometimes it's too foggy to see any of it, but it's gorgeous either way. The bay is majestic alone and the orangey bridge frames it perfectly. Simply iconic.

I would recommend walking early in the morning before everyone else gets there to enjoy. I got lucky and was able to have a friend drop me off at one end of the bridge so I didn't have to walk twice (there & back). Just note that if you're walking by yourself you may get stopped by a policeman (speaking... More

The bridge can be tricky to see due to the fog that rolls in almost every day. If you are lucky enough to be out on a sunny day, try to see the bridge then as you might not have the same luck the next day. The walk/bike over the bridge can be enjoyable but is always very busy with... More

It is a beautiful bridge that is visible from quite far. I love it at any weather and visit it quite often.

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in San Francisco, not least when you actually drive across it. My bad fear of heights was not going to stop us heading across the bridge to visit the Muir Woods. My partner drove over first and then I drove back and despite the bridge being three times the... Much has been written and put into song about the Golden Gate Bridge. It's amazing lines and color make it unmistakable. You have to have the experience driving over it, but approach it via The Presidio To get pics.

It is a magical and beautiful bridge. It is hidden in thick fog often, and it adds the charm. Never get tired of driving on it.

Crossing the Bridge side to side is a must do experience. A long walk but totally worth it. Love the view from the top of it. Amazing !!!
