A must if visiting Golden Gate Park. We even took a nap under a tree. If you are with kids, ignore the Children's Garden that appears on the map. . . there is nothing there. The California garden is by far the most amazing.

We were just ambling about SF for the day, and when we got to the gardens thought we may as well pop in and have a look. What an excellent idea - this place is gorgeous and very comprehensive!! Definitely recommended for a warm, sunny afternoon.

A world class botanical garden with wandering trails that lead you through well maintained gardens. It's a bit difficult to navigate through with the maps provided, so plan to get lost a few times before finding your way. There are some interesting "geographic gardens", such as the Mediterranean Garden and Native California Garden which make it a lesson in natural... More

Each continent has a section. Good signage and toilets throughout the gardens. Lots of places to sit down and rest. Enjoyed learning and observing the Longtalied Swallow butterfly.

We had a nice stroll through the gardens. These gardens are very large and are labeled for each region where the plants originate. Very nice quiet afternoon.

We really enjoyed our trip to the gardens. There were so many plants in so many different settings. The gardens have plants from across the world and some of the displays are outstanding. Some of the sections are a bit less impressive but there is plenty to satisfy any visitor.

The kids liked the green space here to roll down hills, the adults loved well-cultivated walks and the organization of the plants into themed walks and groupings.
