Telegraph Hill is in the area by the Embarcadero, North Beach and Russian Hill, but also close to Fisherman's Wharf. It's a mix of residential, light commercial with cool bars, restaurants, coffee houses and shops. Mostly it's Coit Tower that draw the tourists, but there...More

My title says it all. I used to live here and always enjoy these views. Parking can be a problem during the summer tourist season.

We came here directly after our Alcatraz ferry returned to San Francisco. We walked from sea level to the very top of Telegraph Hill where Coit Tower is located via stairwells. The stairwells practically cut through people's backyards making their way up. We did enter...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian

neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
