Beautiful street......great exercise too! Please don’t pose on private property for photos....we saw people jump up onto home ornamentation for photo ops. These are private homes.

Iconic San Francisco driving experience. Beautiful homes and landscaping. Cable car at the top, steep climbs below. Be prepared for lots of tourists standing on the road. Make sure your car and legs can handle the slope. Be respectful of residents.

People live here. It's a fascinating way to spend an hour. There are some steps to walk up along the sides.

we were on foot when we went to this street, well worth a look , but if you have a car or bike its a must, would be great to drive down it, loads of different ways to get there, hop on bus, or walk,..

Passed by on the Powell-Hyde cable car and walked back from wharf very busy with lots of tourists taking photos and police presence holding back traffic to allow cars out that had made the trip down

There are plenty of tourist sites to see in SF and this is one of many to considered a site to see. Keep in mind we walked from Fisherman's Wharf and it was a hike up I think 5 or 6 steep blocks, the type of streets you see... More

Yes it is possible. There are sidewalks, but it will be hard, the hills are steep.
