A wonderful place for people to take a walk or run, and there is even a free Fitness Court with stations for situps, pushups etc. A very active part of San Francisco that leads to Crissy Field and a nice view of boats and the...More

The Marina Distrcit is famous for bars, restauants and generic chain stores now. Walk over to the water and soak up the views. Walk over to the two Yacht Clubs...Fun to visit.

Every time I come out to San Francisco I love to go down to the Marina District and run over to Chrissy Field and take the trail to the Golden Gate Bridge. Close to the Marina is an awesome outdoor fitness center near Fort Mason....More

This is an area that steps back from the madness of downtown SF, not with all the homeless people and massive shopping but a neighborhood with a gorgeous marina, cool houses and little shops and restaurants. We reached it driving and loved it's peace and...More

One of San Francisco's popular residential neighborhoods, and expensive place to live. Some good shopping and good restaurants and cafes. Interesting architecture.

The marina district offers great views of the bay, and is a great place to walk and take in the scenery of San Francisco.

The Marina is a nice area to walk around and take in some sights of the bay and harbor...that's about it though. The area, including a small grassy area and some benches, are well kept, so that's good.

It is a nice place to see within SF. View of Golden Gate Bridge is much better as compared to Pier39. Entire marina neighborhood is pretty but expensive to live.

This is a nice area full of shops and restaurants, ideal for walking. I recommend going in the hours of sunset. It has a classic view overlooking the bay which is not to be missed.

Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

I can not guarantee raccoon sightings but would think that the area around the Palace of Fine Arts might; if not, I think that the area around Fort Mason might fit the bill.
