Not a practicing religious person, I do however love the solstice of sitting in a pew early mornings reflecting on the grace of life and peace we all desire. Grace Cathedral offers a great place for moments of reflection. The vast building offers a sense...More

If you love beautiful churches, you have to see Grace Cathedral. In the heart of the City, worth the time and effort to go see.

Grace Cathedral is a monumental gothic style church built of reinforced concrete but resembling the stone cathedrals of Europe. Constructed on the site of the Crocker Nob Hill Mansion, I Rember when the Cathedral was completed and dedicated in the 1960's. Replicas of Ghiberti's bronze...More

Grace Cathedral effortlessly combines old (Gothic-style architecture) with new (reinforces concrete). It has a wonderful sense of peace and acceptance inside, highlighted by the memorials to those who died of AIDS. We enjoyed watching the 'Jacob's Dream' installation currently in the north aisle.

Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that
