At the northwestern corner of San Francisco, there is a series of stunning views at every turn in this wild and windy trail. Hillsides of cypress and wildflowers, views of shipwrecks and access to the ruins of Sutro baths, a San Francisco specials memory.

Relatively easy hike. Plenty of shade too. Remember, this is SF, right next to the ocean so it can get cold and windy. Mostly dirt trail, so wear some shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Made up of plenty small trails...all pretty short. Don't forget to go check out the lands end labyrinth. Pretty easy to find if you... More

This is by far the most quintessential urban hike in SF. The trail can lead from the Cliff House along the cliffside overlooking the Pacific with stunning views peeking in and out of the trail of Golden Gate bridge. Find your way at the end of the trail by the golf course to Baker Beach for an added pleasure.

This can be a destination in its own right, or the start of a long hike that can take you as far as the Golden Gate Bridge. Parking is easy, if you get there early. In the winter, 9 am still has lots of parking spaces. We prefer to hike north following lower trail along the coast, with wonderful views... More

We headed out to Land's End by bus one morning in late November, looking for a break from city crowds plus a bit of nature. Good call! We hiked the 1.5 mile coastal trail down towards the Sutro Baths. Every turn on the trail presented an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the shoreline. A small spur off... More

Hiked on a perfect chilly and sunny Thanksgiving day! Can't get over the gorgeous view every step of the way as you inch closer to the Golden Gate bridge. Definitely won't be my last hike on this trail. A must do for everyone visiting the city.

You can usually find free parking near this area. The views are breathtaking and there are a lot of side trails to walk to the edge of the shoreline. Definite must if you like walking and hiking.

From the Beach Chalet, with its 1930s murals, to the Cliff House, Seal Rocks, and Lookout Point—not to mention the walk past the Sutro Baths and view of the west side of the Golden Gate—it's an incomparable experience. Wear comfortable shoes.

Lands End is unique -- it's an honest-to-goodness walking/hiking path along the ocean, but right in the city of San Fransciso. The path is wide and easy to walk (even if it is likely to be crowded) and will take you past an unparalleled view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Along the way you'll see rock formations, birds, and the... More

We drove here to ft some exercise. This is a beautiful historic area. The hike was easy. It was crowded most likely because if the Thanksgiving Holiday. But not so crowded that we couldn't walk around the paths. The views are very lovely and the trees are quite majestic.
