Low key but helpful way of touring.

The company was low key in many ways. For example, its ticketing was unglamorous and consisted of a couple of pages of emailed/fax itinerary. I actually wondered if the simple... read more

Thank you for the outstanding experience. I was in California for 10 days and this company helped me optimize my California experience all the way from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I got the Napa valley tour where I was able to go the the specific wineries I was interested in. The driver was courteous and knowledgable; he adjusted his... More

First off, Yosemite National Park is awesome in every sense of the word and you must see it when you are in California. This review is strictly about the transportation arrangement by California Parlor Car Tours. We had booked this tour via Qantas. If you are interested in booking this tour I would recommending booking directly with Greyline (who operate... More

We had booked a three day tour to Yosemite National Park. California Parlor Car Tours was to provide transportation only. Local stay in the Park was arranged by us independently. The pick up point (Hotel) was fixed and confirmed two days in advance. The pickup time indicated was 6.20 am. We waited at the hotel reception from 6.00 am. The... More

Our tour guide Alex was an utter moron, talked far too much and was desperate for a tip. He was really unfriendly and unhelpful when I spoke to him alone. He lied about shuttle buses and the location of our hotel, so we ended up waiting 4 hours to catch another bus, which we had to pay for, to experience... More

The staff at California Parlor Car Tours handled all of the details of my trip from San Francisco to the Hearst Castle in both directions. I did not have to do anything except get on the train and look for my guide when I got off. They took care of everything else, and even threw in a pickup at my... More

We decided to take the two day tour option to Yosemite as the one day trip is a very long one and restricts the time in Yosemite. The bus trip in is spectacular towards the end and on the way in you get a sense of the scale of San Joaquin Valley and its horticulture ( eg Almonds). After arriving... More

The company was low key in many ways. For example, its ticketing was unglamorous and consisted of a couple of pages of emailed/fax itinerary. I actually wondered if the simple voucher codes for each third-party provider was going to hold sway. It did! The tour company links tour providers, train trips and coach companies for a three day trip from... More

I found this company very easy to work with. I took one of their tours with a number of added attractions/nights. This tour provides for transportation between different California cities, tours, and meals. I had vouchers for four different hotels, three train rides, six different tours, transportation to the airport, one taxi ride, and a number of meals . Every... More

Our Yosemite tour was booked through Starline & ended up being run through Grayline - this was a little confusing. We stayed overnight at Yosemite Lodge which is a great option & would recommend. This trip is more transport & bookings rather than a tour - you are taken to Yosemite & left to fend for yourself until pick-up, this... More
