Some of the finest and famous paintings in the world. Beautifully arranged galleries with places to sit and admire the work.

This is one of my favorite SF museums. When in town I’m usually drawn to its wonderful special exhibitions and so I’d overlooked the permanent collections until this trip. Allot plenty of time to view treasures that include European paintings from the 14th-20th centuries by...More

The location and views are enough to check out this fabulous place. The views of The Golden Gate Bridge, the city and the bay are priceless. I'm not art expert but the collections were fascinating and inspiring. The Rodin sculptures are in a class by...More

Lots of Rodin sculpture and European painting from the Middle Ages to a bit of Impressionism in a beautiful building with views of the GG bridge, downtown, even Mission Dolores. The size won't leave you brain dead. Sister to the de Young, but more compact....More

I like "old masters". The artwork displayed at the Legion of Honor fit the bill. There is an extensive collection of paintings from a number of sources. The Flemish and Dutch collections are quite nice but their are a large number of English, French and...More

the only thing that I was disapointed about was that they were advertising an exhibit of mummies and the like and I found what they had showing quite small which was unfortunate. On the up side, when you pay general admission ($10) you get entrance...More

This elegant building was built to honor Californian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War I. It has a great collection of European, Greek, Roan and Egyptian art. Auguste Rodin's famous The Thinker is probably the most famous exhibit.
