The SF Playhouse is a great theatre that offers very high-quality productions. So far I have seen 'The Christians" and 'She Loves Me" here and I was very impressed. The actors were very talented and honest in their performances, with fine direction. And although the SFP budget is modest, their production values are very high, the shows look and feel... More

We saw "The Christians" last Sunday. First row mezzanine seats were perfect for what I consider to be one of the most emotionally-moving, high quality pieces of theater I have ever witnessed. The idea, writing, casting, acting, and set design were all superb, and I'm tough to impress. Charming setting too, and great location in the heart of The City.

I'm a season ticket holder and enjoy the productions put on here. It's a somewhat new group and I'm happy to support them. If you are visiting San Francisco you will be able to get reasonably priced tickets for a good show. Sometimes the bigger theaters are harder to get tickets so this is a good way to experience SF... Well acted and thought provoking play. Excellent cast and telling story line. The theatre was a great venue. As a visitor from England this was a good as any 'West End' play I have seem recently. Very good production.

One of the best theater experiences in the Bay Area. Worth catching this play before it closes if you are a thinking type of person. Characters engage in dialogue with each other in a very unusual way, (playwright uses the idea of a 'testimonial' to express his ideas and the characters representing different viewpoints). Also, you, as the audience, are... More

The SF Playhouse is well located in downtown SF just one block off Union Square. Tickets were easy to come by and inexpensive. Visitors liking theater without the expense and planning required by the bigger productions will enjoy the spontaneity of this locale.

Excellent performances, very professional productions in a small theater. From musicals to serious drama, they don't disappoint. And as a subscriber, the box office does great customer service, helping reschedule for any reason. There is a full bar in the theater lobby as well. It is located at a manageable walk from BART and close to some large parking structures.
