The name is quite accurate. Is is quite literally a cliff overlooking the sea. I believe it is the Pacific Ocean.

I always like to think of Sea Cliff's former Victorian Edifice, framed by lightning, looking foreboding. Today it's a nice place to eat and reminisce about its former proximity to the Musee Mechanique and ice skating - yes - rink.
