It's pretty cool up there, but you gotta dodge the junkies and homeless but it can be worth the drama sometimes.

I walk from Noe St., up 14th to the top of the park daily while my travel partner is in rehab at CPMC. About sunrise the city starts to awaken. The park has beautiful old trees, just majestic with a few great memories of a city. The walking paths are paved with a few steps to top. Take your time... More

For peaceful walks among the woods and a bonus view at the top where you can get amazing sights of golden gate bridge. It is a lovely park everyone must visit!

when you get to the top of this park there is a nice garden and some great views of the city and the bridge. The walk there is very steep but there is a path which is a road so nice and flat so you can take your time.

The park is beautiful and walking it will give you a great workout! It provides a view of the city and across the bay. The area it is located in is really lovely and after visiting the park stroll around and take in the beautiful architecture.

We had some time to spend before checking into our hotel so we drove up to this beautiful park. It is a steep climb up but fun to take your time checking out the amazing San Francisco homes and buildings surrounding the park. It can be cool and windy at the top but you will be awarded with some amazing... More

Buena Vista Park is an awesome little place for visitors. If you are making your way to Haight Ashbury then you should definitely stop here. It is a bit of a hike up (take a break if needed), but getting to the top really makes it worth it. Great city view with a couple spots to sit and enjoy. The... More

On May 10, while climbing up the steps on Haight Street, I had my purse snatched!!! Thanks to the wonderful San Francisco Police Department the "snatcher" was caught. Be sure to keep a careful watch out if you go here!!

Buena Vista Park is an awesome part definitely worth a visit! The tracks up are quite steep so prepare to be short of breath by the time you reach the top. Awesome views of the city and Golden Gate Bridge from the top and looks family friendly too!

Out on a long walk, we found this sweet park. Lovely views of the skyline. Totally enjoyable nestled in a neighborhood. Get your walking shoes on!

Staying in Haight-Ashbury

Neighbourhood Profile
The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time. A must-see neighbourhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
