The Curran Theatre opened in January after a lengthy remodel. It was well worth the wait to go back. The opening show was "Fun Home", it closes today. The show was very entertaining and fun, and it gave me a chance to wander around the theater. My first show at The Curran was "A Chorus Line" in 1977. Forty years... More

After two years the Curran Theater's renovation is finally complete and it is gorgeous! Carol Shorenstein Hays has updated the bathrooms and expanded the lobby, while keeping the charm of Victorian San Francisco and the intimate feel of the theater. The location is the best. In the Union Square Area and close to hotels and restaurants. We saw "Fun Home"... More

We saw Fun Home from the upper balcony while visiting San Francisco. The Curran is a wonderfully renovated old theater just east of Union Square. The sight lines and sound from the balcony we're very good, despite the distance from the stage. Plus, the actors were miked up. If you find a good play to see at the Curran, enjoy... More

After a two year renovation, this jewelbox of a theater is now open once again. I just saw the road production of Fun Home and will looking forward to future productions.

I've been to the Curran on several occasions, most recently to see an improv show at SF Sketchfest. The inside of the building is absolutely gorgeous, and the theater is set up so that almost every seat has a great view. It's hard to review a theater on its own merits when the real reason anyone would go is for... More

If you are a fan of the 1954 movie, "White Christmas," DO NOT bother to see this show. The plot has been changed so radically that it is virtually unrecognizable. The producers have surgically removed all the charm of the movie leaving a choppy, disjointed plot with very poor character development that leaves one not really knowing or caring about... More

Absolutely gorgeous architecture and design in a gritty neighborhood of San Francisco. Highly recommended. No offense, but it felt like I was in New York city. Saw and heard a great rock performance. Hedwig and the Angry Inch was outstanding.
