This is a GREAT concert venue. It's small enough to have a awesome view everywhere you stand or sit. And for some events it's all-ages. But, the bathrooms are mangy. By admitting all ages the venue has a responsibility to NOT be a health hazard. The men's room was floor was covered in urine and other liquids. It was slippery... More

Fun party but doormen behavior was terrible. We had a disagreement, trying to resolve it but there was no cooperation whatsoever from the staff, even though everyone could see they made the mistake. They even threatened us with calling the police, and that it might affect our visa status. This is very serious and not very San Francisco.

Amazing mashup nights. Come before 10 for $10 cover otherwise it is $20. You can always get tickets online at cheaper price. If they have popular artists mashup night the line can go around the block even at 10 pm. They have a pizza place right next to it which is decent for midnight snacks!

We were in town to catch a show in DNA's upstairs venue. The show rocked. The sound was great and it was a fun intimate space. The pizza downstairs was incredible. Vegan options available. Friendly staff. Perfect spot for the best people watching. Open 24hrs for food.

Leaving Butters across the Street, we ambled over to the Lounge's left entry line. We know the headliners, so the gent in front forewent the sawbuck cover charge and up two flights of narrow stairs to the chairless, tableless venue. I quickly found the only stool by the bar and settled in with a Jamison's while the hippest half stuck... More

I visited the club on New Year Eve Do-Over Party, a reenactment of the countdown and celebration of 2016. I arrived before 10:00 pm, so admission was $10:00, plus I received 2015 best of Booties Mashup CD. I counted about 20 guests inside the club. The coat closet is on the second floor, off to the side, but facing the... More

Whenever I come to SF I have to go to booties night!! It's always packed with people, fun, really good music (mostly mash up music of oldies and new songs) and if you don't like the music there are 2 other rooms that play other genre.

The DNA Lounge is a small venue, but that makes it so much better to watch a band in my opinion. I saw One Eyed Doll here and it was a great night.

Our large group was looking for a place to dance after the bar we were at had closed, and got a taxi to a place down the street. But that place, Beat Box or Beat something or other, was a $20 cover on a Sunday night and they only take cash. It was going to be well over $150 in... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
