Mile-long Baker Beach lies at the foot of rugged serpentine cliffs west of the Golden Gate. Large waves, undertow and rip currents make the beach unsafe for swimming, but it provides panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands and Lands End. You can fish or check out the shorelife along the beach and rocky shoreline. Restrooms and picnic tables are nearby.

Hiked from AT&T park to Baker Beach on a sunny April day and could not have had better views of the bridge, city and bay. A national treasure all should see and experience.

We stopped by to get the views, in May it was quite windy but definitely worth a visit! The beach is huge.

Very windy day, but we still enjoyed a walk along the beach, fresh clean moist air, low tide left the beach sand compacted and easy to walk on, even the parking was available

Bake Beach is not only a nice sandy beach for a walk with a cute neighbourhood, but, in my opinion, also one of the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge. And of some naked people wondering on the beach... ;-)

When the golden hour is close you‘ll get some amazing photos! Not just of the Golden Gate Bridge, but also of the ocean and cliffs close by. Worth a stop for sure!

We go there once every couple of months and spend the entire day there with the kids. Great place to fly a kite and/or drone with an amazing view of the golden gate bridge.

I walked to Baker Beach from China Beach, to have a nice view of the Bridge, I wasn't disappointed, I took really beautiful pictures on a sunny day.

We got here about 6:00 - still dark with the lights on - and just watched the scenery change as day broke. It was stunning. We both hiked around the area and saw the batteries. Great place to get a workout running stairs and hiking...More

I do not know 100%, but most Cities have ordinances which do NOT allow overnight camping unless in designated campgrounds, with facilities, which this is not- It's just a parking lot to access the trails

Could be on the cooler side, but it is not unusual to get warm, sunny weather well into the fall (TIP the fall is the best weather season in SF). That said, it could also rain. I have been on Baker Beach in sun, fog, and... More
