Mile-long Baker Beach lies at the foot of rugged serpentine cliffs west of the Golden Gate. Large waves, undertow and rip currents make the beach unsafe for swimming, but it provides panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands and Lands End. You can fish or check out the shorelife along the beach and rocky shoreline. Restrooms and picnic tables are nearby.

Got to Baker Beach at the end of the Pacific Coastal Trail from the Golden Gate Bridge. Nice view of the bridge and wasn’t crowded when we went. Although, I️ heard it gets busy. Free parking at the access point and bathroom facilities.

It was cloudy and raining in March, but we still walked along the beach to take a picture near the Golden Gate Bridge.

So wild and unspoilt yet so close to the city and the presidio. As you walk north along the beach the full magnificence of Golden Gate Bridge comes into view.

You can walk under the golden gate bridge. Wonderful SF mix of families, lovers, solo folks, dog walkers, even sun worshipers. Baker beach is on of the clothing optional beaches in CA. Don't let that scare you, no one in SF does. :)

Simply awesome views. We went over after walking part way across the G.G. bridge. It feels like you are very far from civilization, even though there were a few other people around, but it certainly is far from crowded. We stayed at the top of...More

This is a great place to see the Golden Gate Bridge. Nice views of Marin Co. as well, plus there are folks hanging out on the beach, which is interesting on its own. Worth a 15 min. detour if you have a busy schedule.

Could be on the cooler side, but it is not unusual to get warm, sunny weather well into the fall (TIP the fall is the best weather season in SF). That said, it could also rain. I have been on Baker Beach in sun, fog, and... More

Their is rocks close to the surface of the water. To keep ships away this was built. This is what I had been told by a couple of people who lived near the south end of Baker Beach
