The history of the arsenal were interesting. John Brown's place in history and the final straws to ending slavery are what draw you in, but his fort is just a firehouse and an obviously ill fated mission. Nice little town. Oddly very little open on Thursday.

The entire old town area was fascinating. There's not much to see for Arsenal Square but a partial foundation. I'd love to see the building recreated with markers pointing out the original foundation. Take time to read the history.

This building was one of the key buildings in pre Civil War Harpers Ferry and probably John Brown’s main target. Unfortunately all that remains is an outline of the foundations. It would be nice if the building could be recreated at some time in the future.
