WE traveled for a special event in the historic park. There were several reenactors who made the time period come alive. The town is small, restored to about 1/3 of the original size. The museums and shops are interesting, as well as the walk across...More

Great area not too far from Washington DC. Step back in time while also learning about American History. We can't wait to go back in the spring when it is warmer.

We like the fact that you parked your car out of town and got a free bus into Harpers Ferry. This made it easy to walk round and enjoy the town without dodging traffic. Everywhere you looked there was something to see or a building...More

We were there on a miserably cold, wet day. This limited what we could do but since it was off season, no one was there and were able to drive up to the visitor center. The town itself felt like it had been frozen in...More

In addition to a number of small buildings with good displays and information, the park offers hiking and walking trails. We learned a lot about John brown and the battle that preceded Antietam. A great place to visit for history buffs.

You were not within the national park at Harpers Ferry when you encountered that app parking fee and were ticketed. Instead, you were in the corporate limits of the town of Harpers Ferry. For $10.00 - good for three days - you could have parked...More
