I read a guidebook that said that there wasn't much to see in Needles district of Canyonlands unless you hiked, that there wasn't much to see from a car. The book didn't mention how many arches and amazing rock formations that you can see on...More

Many people skip the southern entrance to Canyonlands, because it is a 2.5 hour drive from the northern entrance and lacks the spectacular views all the way down to the Green and Colorado Rivers of the northern entrance. But we visited the next day, on...More

Would not want to drive this on our own. Better to take a tour. Adrift adventures has Parks Certification for these drives. Safer way to go.

Fill the gas tank and buy water before you go. Sunblock and water are needed lots of short stops with fun little hikes and a few big ones. Not all stops have water!

Needles outpost WAS an awesome spot, and still is as it recently got auctioned into private hands to stay protected and wild and free forever. The garlic burgers were epic, we would spend $200 in airplane fuel to fly here for lunch back when the...More

What a great place to visit. We found that even during busy times we were able to travel around. Although there were very few parking spaces in the mid afternoon.
