We wanted to see these beautiful falls we heard about. We are from Florida and not used to this type of landscape. Short drive from our hotel and $10 got the car in. No lines, easy parking. Had children ages 11,9,5 and was able to navigate park easily. Walk from visitor center 1 minute to see falls! So amazing!! We... More

This is a great place to walk trails and get away from all of the cities in the area. Unfortunately, depending on when you go there is often a line to get in and no parking available. Once to get to the trails and away from the falls you can start leaving people behind. The views are wonderful and definitely... More

This site is always beautiful. It was a chilly day but still worth the stop. It's a great place to bring a picnic lunch or take a hike. We just enjoyed the views. It's a national park so being your pass or pay (very worthwhile). Senior passes for national parks for eternity are only $10. Price is going up to... More

Great Falls Park is great for everyone. Hikers, sunbathers, picnic goers. Watch the kayakers by the falls on most days. Easy to get to once you park. The falls are just 1 minute from the parking lot so no long hikes to see the falls. If you are a hiker there are all kinds of paths to hike on.

I love, love, love, this place. If you want to stay close to home and catch a glimpse of cascading falls this is the place for you. There are hiking trails for those who like to hike or walking paths for a stroll with your dog. I've seen rock climbing classes here as well as kyaking if you are an... More

Great Falls Park is a great local outing. Nice falls with some very nice trails and rock walking. Picnic tables, all amid a lovely natural setting. Recommended. One gains some history to boot.

Great Falls Park is an interesting mix of nature and history. The nature part, of course is the Falls and the geological aspect that are a joy to climb - but make sure you are not in a restricted area! History because of the Patowmack canal (to circumvent the falls) that was built but ultimately failed. The Maryland side has... More

The interpretive center is well done with a nice historic review. There is a small canteen on the lower level to be able to purchase water, sodas, and snacks. Many places to sit and rest, great picnic area with plenty of tables and outdoor grilles, and the walking paths are crushed limestone / gravel. This park is well used and... More
