This place seems to be a campsite gas and have a store and laundry. The village itself is a campsite. There is a nature trail at campsite 18. Besides that there isn't much to do.

Well we thought we would see a village, but there is no village there. There was a convenience store, a gas station and a campground (closed). It not anything that resembled a village. It was somewhat disappointing as we expected it to be much more...More

This is a primitive national park, and if you want electricity for your rig, Rio Grande Village has a small paved parking lot where you'll have to camp. If you can get by without electrical hookups, you can enjoy the lovely wooded campground that is...More

We arrived to find everything closed (except the gas pumps thankfully!) due to lack of water. Evidently a 'project" is underway and is past the scheduled completion date. Good thing we were not looking to camp here!

On our drive to the east side of the park, we encountered the Rio Grande Village area. This is the best camping place in Big Bend hands down!!! Green grass! Cool waters!! Nice folks! Really beautiful area!

Best thing about Rio Grande Village was the access to the trail over by the tent campground. Think it was maybe around 2 mile nature trail but you climbed up to get a really good view of the river and the town of Boquillas in...More

SO our spot was #11, located by the bathrooms, and since we went in winter is wasn't too bad that our only shade was a small tree So it could use more shade. The ground was even for our tent and no large rocks poking...More

The Rio Grande Village campground had all you really need for tent camping. Clean bathrooms, a camp store (with a gas pump), showers and a bit of grass to pitch your tent. It is located near the Hot Springs and Boquillas Crossing and Canyon. I...More
