I have lived in the area for 5 years, and finally made a visit to buy a ticker for an event. It is a lovely building in a centrally located spot downtown. There is lots of helpful information and the gift shop is lovely. A definite stop for anyone visiting the western mountain region of North Carolina.

The Asheville Visitor Center is the best place to get information on the area and to plan out your day for touring the city, where to shop and where to eat good food. Also, the trolley tours depart from this location (as well as area hotels) and there is free parking to leave your car. There is also a great... More

My husband and I stopped here first on our first trip to Asheville, and we are so glad we did! The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable, and they spent time telling us about their city. We left with 2 bags filled with brochures and magazines. So much to look st, so much to see, but they pointed us in... More

Jan was great, seemed to know everything about the area. Provided local maps to attractions, showed us where our hotel was and a way to the Biltmore bypassing possible train delays. Can almost be information overload. The center is close to downtown, lots of free parking. We were there when it was very quiet and not many people. Purchasing tickets... More

This was our first stop on a Saturday morning in Asheville and so glad it was! We were given a detailed map, marked with the attractions and activities we were interested in along with some tips on how best to enjoy our stay.

Loved this visitors centre. Jan was so friendly and helpful. She gave us heaps of ideas of what we could do around Asheville and the mountains. Also told us Biltmore tickets are $10 cheaper from here than at Biltmore. Too late for us though.

Had spent most of the at Biltmore and the came into Asheville to check if there was anything good to do late in the afternoon. Spoke with the amazing Jan who was very friendly and helpful. Decided to go up to The Grove Inn to have a look at the view of the mountains and get a drink. Then went... More
