McCormick Field opened its gates for the first time in 1924 when the Asheville Tourists played host to the Detroit Tigers. Over the years the stadium has encountered numerous renovations, most recently a seating bowl makeover in 2015, that has ensured the stadium remains up with the times while keeping its lustrous history and throwback feel. With a capacity of just over 4,000, the dynamic during a game is intimate and scenic. It is a hitter friendly Minor League ballpark thanks to a short porch in right field and a 42-foot high wall in right-center.

McCormick Field is still inhabited by the Asheville Tourists, the Single A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

If you're visiting Asheville or live there, the stadium is a great place to visit. Tourists games are always a blast and like all parks, have daily specials: $1 dogs or beers, fireworks, etc. Mr Moon and Ted E. bear will walk around and get a picture with you. Go Tourists!

Perfect size minor league ballpark, complete with dozens of craft beers on tap. Tickets are cheap, and there's plenty of fun for fans of all ages. The stadium food is great (chili cheese nachos with jalapeños!) and there are also food carts with burritos, brats, sandwiches, etc. A great way to spend an evening.

Parking can be a challenge, but they provide a shuttle that will pick you up and take you to the gate. Good ticket prices and selection of food items. Clean stadium and bathrooms. And great family entertainment. The movie Bull Durham was shot here and it is the home of thirsty Thursday.

Very nice visit. Although there were no games being played when we visited, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating, and allowed us to view the field and take photos.

You have to love baseball in a small stadium. A real family affair with all kinds of fun stuff between innings. The game can be a real nail biter as you never knows who will win as often the score changes several times during the game. Great fun for all

Had a great time at the last game of the season! Beautiful day, beautiful setting! The ball park does not have a bad seat.

As a true lover of baseball I was delighted to unearth this GEM of a ballpark. It's rustic and old and charming and delightful. It felt like watching a game in its purist form. I fell in love with this stadium and will absolutely come back!

Saw a Friday night game between the Asheville Tourists and Hagerstown (Md) Suns. Unfortunately the Tourists lost the game but a good time was still had by all. The best part was the spectacular fireworks display at the end of the game.

Went on last day of season, nice little park. But what blew me away was the selection of local craft beers! Impressive! I think there were 5 different IPAs available at the various vendors/carts. Definitely a ballpark for a beer city.

Went to another Tourist game. Parking is tight but adequate. Great food and beverage selections. A bit pricey, but aren't all sporting arena's? Many, many food choices and that's important. No rest room issues, easy access. Admission prices very fair. We prefer the section that has servers who bring you food/ drinks for tips, or the all you can eat... More
