Highland Brewing Company has crafted the highest quality beer with North Carolina mountain water since 1994. Family-owned and Asheville’s first legal brewery since Prohibition, it is a favorite destination for beer fans, music fans, and families. From the balanced, food-pairing favorite Gaelic Ale, to the tad aggressive, fruit and pine hop-burst of Highland IPA, the portfolio always showcases quality. Highland’s name honors the Scots Irish who settled in the Appalachian Mountains in the 18th and 19th centuries. To learn more about the nationally recognized solar array, tours, private events, free live music and more, visit the brewery for a pint or a tour!

We visited maybe 8 years ago when they were just getting started. To come back now to see a huge facility, still with home grown atmosphere, WOW! So many wonderful beers to try and just a fun time with music and beer. Thank you

Nice selection of brews, great view and corn hole for fun! Understand they have a top rate brew staff--it tastes like it. Great value and recommend the tour to learn more. Oldest craft brewery in North Carolina--no trip is complete without a visit.

Great selection of beer on tap, and the bartender was able to explain the differences between them. There was a band out in the meadow which was also good. This is a really nice place to spend a few hours on a Sunday. Prices in...More

We've been here several times on Friday nights with friends for beers. They have food trucks with live music behind the brewery. The place is kid friendly. Best beer there is the Thunderstruck Porter. Get there early as they close at 9 or 9:30. Going...More

The staff really make me feel welcome. They are consistently helpful, quick, and really seem to like their jobs. I have NEVER waited long to get served, and when I do, it's a genuinely pleasant exchange. Additionally, I've seen the family owners on several occasions...More

It may seem a little hard to find this place as it's located away from downtown and up a hill by an industrial complex but it's worth a visit. They have 15 beers on tap which rotate and you can get flights and also shorts....More

We just came for the concert (local band - we enjoyed the music) and good beer. Gaelic Ale is my favorite, but trying a sampler is also fun. We did not do the tour. Many of the people that frequent the place seem to be...More
