We stopped by the Tracey Morgan Gallery and the owner was in. She gave us a first rate tour of the works, and really took time to show the peices. the gallery is at 188 Coxe avenue.

Recently spent a week in Asheville, NC. Rented a house in West Asheville to accommodate 5-6 as we had our 24 yr old daughter and several of her college friends coming and going. We spent time in the art district visiting many shops, galleries, breweries,...More

My husband and I visited for approximately 3 hours, but could have spent a lot longer, had we had more time. Loved the variety of shops. Very eclectic. Stopped at Chocolate Fetish and had the world's best hot chocolate drink. Friendly people for the most...More

Quite interesting but don't plan on spending more than one day in downtown unless you are really into the arts. Many private shops with very unique artwork. Also plenty of very nice restaurants many of which had York city pricing.

Great area for walking around, doing some shopping, and grabbing a bite! Street parking is hard to find, but there’s public parking for a fair hourly rate.

There are so many cute and wonderful shops to visit! Vintage clothing, clothing you may not find anywhere else, local handmade items and most are at good prices. Beautiful art works.

We are not into the bar scene so much, but many are and there were plenty bars and restaurants to satisfy those. We did visit Skybar, a rooftop bar which is worth a visit for a unique Happy Hour experience. We love perusing galleries and...More

There are two arts districts in Asheville, one downtown and the other along the river, which are actually areas with heavy concentrations of galleries, studios and workshops. Hard to say if the respective vendors will be... More

Hmmmm....I'd say possibly, but this really isn't a classic Southern city in my experience. There certainly is charm and history, particularly around the Biltmore area, if that's of interest to you. I've lived in the... More
