On the near-north side of Asheville, this lake has paved and good trail walk-way all around. Wonderful place to re-collect oneself, walk the dog or wander with a friend while chatting.

This is a beautiful lake, you can walk on the trail. In the winter it freezes and is so pretty, you can see houses all around as you walk, very relaxing.

Wonderful little lake. You need a permit to walk your dog and the bird santuary next door is beautiful

Thought we'd take our little dog on a nice lap around the lake but were approached by a park official and asked to leave because we were not residents of the area. Pretty lousy way to treat the tourists and guests who keep your town...More

I was lucky enough to visit as the trees were turning yellow, orange and red. It was gorgeous! I must have taken 100 pictures during my hour-long walk.

This area in N. Asheville is a private lake where you should give a donation to help maintain the lake when you walk around it. There is very little parking and it tends to get busy. The nearby bird sanctuary is nice, but very small....More

We went here to exercise and get some fresh morning air. Signs posted require a special permit for walking a dog. We enjoyed the park. Parking extremely limited.

Beautiful reflections and scenery. Quiet path under trees around lake is very peaceful. You may need to park at Bird Sanctuary and there's a wooded trail there, too, though I haven't tried what many joggers seem to enjoy This is a lovely, well maintained haven.

You can fish in Beaver Lake, but you need an NC fishing license and also, because it is a private lake, you will need to pay $50 for a fishing/boating license. It's only catch-and-release. Frankly, this isn't much of a lake... More

I totally agree with you about charging folks walking their dogs. It should be free if all the rules and conditions of Beaver Lake are respected and followed.
