I learned a lot and it was a wonderful time. Beautiful grounds. Insightful materials. The site was kept in an amazing condition. The animals were a nice touch as well.

The grounds are well kept, the guides knowledgeable and friendly. There is also a very informative film. Make sure you take the time to view it along with the gallery of information before venturing out to the grounds. Lots of walking and a few animals...More

My husband I hadn't been here in 20 years and we really enjoyed the visitor center. It was nicely done and they had several exhibits to read and listen to. They also had a theater that told some of the history of Booker T Washington....More

Beautiful grounds ..very interesting ..the film was very interesting in the Visitor Center and the gentleman working there is friendly and informative .. If you love history this is a must see..bring drinks though..they don't sell them and wear comfortable shoes..

The birthplace of educator, Booker T. Washington, has been rebuilt (only the original tobacco barn remains). The dwelling where he lived has been recreated so that if you have read his words in "Up from Slavery" you can see what he has described. Take time...More
