Beautiful site within a very nice neighborhood. It's a bit of a hike to get to, but if you take the trolley to the USS Constitution, it's about a 15 minute hike from there. Be prepared to walk uphill. Just follow the freedom trail and...More

Ended up hiking a top Bunker Hill and had totally forgot that it was a somewhat steep and tough hike. Once up there though, the views of the city are spectacular!

We walked up to the monument and walked around it, but didn’t not walk up the steps to the top. There isn’t an elevator, and we had walked the Freedom Trail, so we skipped the walk up. After that we went to the museum. There’s...More

If you're not too into history, definitely read up on this battle. I love history so I find it fascinating. The neighborhood surrounding the monument is beautiful as well. You can climb the 294 stairs inside but they were grueling for me. If I had...More

The area surrounding the monument is grassy and a nice place to relax, have a picnic, etc. but there are no benches to sit on. The climb up inside the monument is grueling even for the best in shape. The stairway is very steep and...More

If you love history, it doesn't get much better than this. This is a place where a hard battle was fought which had huge consequences in the end. I did not climb to the top, as climbing a lot of stairs is too straining on...More

This is the site of a American loss during the Revolutionary War but a victory in the sense that we were able to show the British we could defend ourselves and we delayed them from furthering their plans. The site is easy to find as...More

Not an easy climb but worth it. The climb to the top was exhausting but fun. Very crowded on the winding stairs and at the top. Views are just ok. Bunker hill monument is half the height of the Washington monument according to the park...More

The monument is very impressive up on the hill. When we entered we failed to notice the sign that said how many steps it was to the top. WE eventually climbed all 294 of them. At the top, where we recovered, we were able to...More

The Bunker Hill site is a great place to visit, especially after leaving the USS CONSTITUTION on the Freedom Trail. The history is all explained on the plaques and signs, plus they have actors there to reenact the action as well as demonstrate the use...More

Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight
lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit.
Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge
from the North End or take the scenic water locks to
Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll
down cute Main street, wandering up the windy
residential streets to Monument Square, where you can
learn about the city’s history along with a great view
