GREAT WAY TO SEE THE CITY, NOT THE BOAT I HAD REQUESTED

First of all, I don't want to bash Boston Harbor Boat Rentals - my experience was a good one, but I'm VERY easy going and didn't want to ruin the day with my kids. PRO's: The... read more

The boat pictured here looks twice as nice as the worn-out condition of this tired boat. Called to book and Don didn't call back several times. and over 2 days.. He and his young son are second mates...The boat had an engine problem in the middle of the afternoon and we had to wait circling around for help to come-almost... More

What a HORRIBLE experience. Don is impossible to get in touch with and judgng by the other reviews I am not the only one who experienced that he is also terrible at anything that requires scheduling and communication. First of all, everything started half an hour late because the previous renters ran out of gas (presumably Don's fault seeing as... More

I have rented from Don and his crew about 5 times now!! I have always been more than happy! Don responds truly goes above and beyond to treat my family and I extremely well. We have rented smaller boats, 17ft to the larger overnight trip. . We are provided maps, equipment in case of emergency, contact numbers while at sea.... More

I rented a boat from this guy. I showed up with my kids, and there was no boat in sight. I called up Don and couldn't believe how rude I was treated. It's very sad since I love boating and was really looking forward to developing a good relationship with his company/service so that I could go back more often.

So we bought a living social deal for this business for the two hour boat rental. The picture showed some luxury yacht, which obviously I knew we weren't getting but the boat that we did get was barely sea worthy. The boat is 17' long which wouldn't be a problem except that it's only about 6' wide which made it... More

My husband drove the boat and I enjoyed myself. The views are amazing and the leader was knowledgable about Boston history. You might get sprayed with salt water, so you might want to save some time to clean up later in the day. There is no bathroom once you get down to the boats, so go before if needed. We... More

Such an amazing experience!!! Friends and I have rented boats from Don and his crew several times now over the last two seasons. They've bent over backwards to accommodate us, made amazing suggestions about unknown harbor islands to visit and given us boats with no more than an hour's notice. Watching the city drift away on a warm summer evening,... More

WOW! So UNprofessional. Booked the 25' WELLCRAFT 250 SPORTSMAN CUDDY CABIN more than a month in advance. We confirmed the meet up spot that morning with Donald Symington over the phone and he tried to ask us if we could push back out appointment 2 hours before our appointment. We declined as we had people coming from out of state... More

We were in Boston for a very special family-and-friend farewell. Don made sure everything was perfect and we all agreed there could not have been a more wonderful way to say goodbye. Everything was just as described (great food and drinks), and while there were a couple of times I was worried about Don returning my phone calls, he 100%... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
