Nice little pub with good music and beer selection. Definitely a hole in the wall. Does not take credit card but has an ATM.

First, note that they only accept cash. There is a small sign at the entrance, but no mention of it until they bring you the bill. This restaurant is very dark, but not dark enough to hide the fact that my medium-well hamburger was dark pink. Never could get the waitress to come back over in order to send back... More

I go to Bukowski's at least once a week, sometimes more. The beer selection is awesome...over 160 brews on tap, cask bottle or can. The food is also great! Best grilled hot dogs (and rolls) I've have since the old Montreal Forum. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable on all the various beer styles as well!

I love this place. It's small and dark and historic. Everything that you'd want in a bar. And they have PBR on tap! They do not allow anyone in who is under 21, so do not bring your kids.

another local favorite, this place has good food and amazing selection of beer, I personally loved a mango beer they offered. The staff is also really quick. The only bad thing is that you can only pay cash but it's completely worth it.

A pretty good tavern if you're in the Back Bay area. Convenient if you are at a conference in the Prudential-Convention Center complex or are meeting with people coming from Cambridge. They had a nice selection of ciders and craft beers, and the food was really good for a bar! A bit crowded, though.

My husband and I were staying at a hotel nearby and decided to try a few local taverns. The bartender was a female with the worst customer service skills we have encountered. We were barely acknowledged when we walked in and both chuckled as our receipt was basically tossed at us. We paid $17.00 for a beer with a thick... More

Kind of dead on a Friday night. Definitely a dive bar and it's in a very odd location. One very large redeeming factor is their beer list, and another are their tater tots.

We stumbled into this place on the way back to our hotel. A no nonsense bar with a great selection of beers. A different feel which has the feel of a typical British drinking den. Excellent service and friendly customers. We didn't eat there but the food looked very good. You have to try it at least once on your... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
