The museum has a variety of permanent and topical displays covering Kansas history. There is a hands on section for young children. The restored steam train engine and cars inside the building are crowd favorites.

The Kansas Museum of History is a very interesting spot to spend some time learning about the history of the state and its people. It is easy to get to and is worth visiting while you are in the city.

I went here alone while my wife was on a work trip and spent most of the day looking at different pieces. You could easily spend a lot of time here, though the building isn't that big.
