You could spend an entire day here. There are many museums, restaurants, artists, gardens, walkways, and of course the zoo. We did not do all the museums- we ate lunch first at The Prado which was delicious, then we went to the Photography museum- which was cool. What we enjoyed the most though was walking around the "streets" of the... More

A great place to still for the day. Eleven museums on the Prado and more just to the south end. So much to see. Beautiful architecture. Was the host for the "world Fair" the year the Panama Canal opened giving the east coast access to the west.

Spent a morning walking around the park. Beautiful park, gardens and architecture. Great for walking and people watching as well as many museum options. Want to go back and enjoy the zoo and museums next time.

We walked up the hill (long hill) from the gaslamp district to maybe the most amazing park I've ever visited. What wonderful surprise to find beautiful landscaping, lovely walkways, amazing architecture, 17 museums, famous San Diego Zoo, a great cafe etc. etc. Really you could spend 2 weeks in this park and not see everything! Very good informational and directional... More

Balboa Park is a gem just north of downtown San Diego. The buildings in the central plaza where built for the Panama American Exposition in 1913 in the Spanish style and now house a variety of museums. Even if you don't go inside the architecture alone is absolutely stunning. It's a wonderful place to wander and a photographer's dream. Balboa... More

...including Pokémon Go! Free wifi throughout the park! Lovely crowds, helpful staff and all of the museums are here in one convenient place! Incredible! Fresh air and sunshine. Check to see if your hotel has a shuttle that can drop you off/pick you up from here :)

A huge park with something for everyone. Be sure to check out the rose garden and right by that, the cactus garden. You might be tired at the end of the day, so check out the bus number ahead of time that will take you right back to the convention center or the Green Line - I think it's bus... More

Spent close to 5 hours just roaming through Balboa Park, and I could easily have spent more time there. The Park is just beautiful with a large array of things to take in from the Rose Gardens, to the fountains, the museums, the various architecture, just the natural beauty of the place itself is breathtaking. We got a day with... More

What a beautiful park! We visited this park after visiting the zoo to relax. Nice café in the café for snacks.

This park is historical and beautiful. There are museums both pay and free available. The gardens are very well maintained and gorgeous. Don't miss this one.
