Balboa Park is one of the most amazing places in San Diego, and one of my favorite urban parks in the world. Lots of opens pace combined with plazas, museums, gardens, cafes, and galleries. It's not hard to imagine yourself transported to some old Spanish...More

The park is beautifully set out and well maintained. Easy to park, and plenty to see. We only had a half day - not really enough - but went to a couple of the museums (flight and Mingei), the Japanese and Alcazar gardens, and saw...More

You can explore the green heart of San Diego on foot, bike, scooter, tram or vintage carriages. Whatever your way, you'll find many museums, cafes, a botanical library, plant sales, outdoor performances, a Shakespearean theatre, a puppet show, sidewalk performers, coffee shops, a Japanese Garden,...More

I've visited Balboa Park a couple of times. There are a number of museums to visit (if you choose to). I've been to the Museum of Man and it was very interesting. The grounds of Balboa Park are simply beautiful. The landscaping is truly breathtaking!

Not sure if heaven exists, but if it does, it would be like Balboa Park, with one of the largest concentrations of museums in the world, plus a zoo! Plenty of restaurants, too, but the real draw for us were the museums of natural history,...More

This is the most wondrous park I have ever been to with its recipe of gardens, museums and other - worldly Spanish Colonial architecture. It was peaceful to be in such pretty surroundings. The street performers and "cause vendors" weren't too aggressive and obnoxious. I...More

Cannot think of a better urban park. Even Golden Gate Park does not have as many museums. The eating places are also top notch. A little confusing to navigate. Recommend download of free app before you go. Arrive early for better parking options.

This park is huge. You can't see it all in one day. We checked out a few museums but there is much more to see. All different activities all the time

We planned to go to the San Diego Air & Space Museum, not realizing that it was located within Balboa Park. The museum was fabulous, but we were so pleasantly surprised about the beauty of the park. After the museum we took a walk through...More

Absolutely. You can explore as little or as much as you want In my opinion, better without a Segway. You can stop and enjoy the sites.
