First mission in California. Stopped by after brunch and because service was going in they let you in for free. Very enjoyable even on very hot humid day.

The mission is beautifully maintained and is worth a visit if you are in San Diego. It's small so an hour is plenty but it is a lovely quiet and serene place. The mission church has daily masses and if you want to get to...More

Enter the mission church through the gift shop. They have tours but you do not have to take one to see the mission church. The historical digs at the mission are interesting. There is a steep staircase from the parking lot to the mission.
