Just visited SD Natural History Museum to see the new Maya exhibition. If you have any interest the culture of the Maya, then this is a must see. They have done a very good job tracking their long history to the present day. Yes, the Maya still live in today's world. There are also a lot of interactive displays for... More

So much to see in this wonderful museum. We also purchased tickets to the Mayan exhibit, which was extremely interesting. Also, recommend purchasing the multi museum tickets, which allows you into many of the other museums found at Balboa Park.

This museum is a fun visit. You can really wander around in here and see many different things. I think the kids would probably like this the most because of all the dinosaurs. But there were quite a bit of interactive parts of the museum too. I actually learned quite a bit about water conservation. I really think its a... More

Just arrived in San Diego and had a bunch of things planned awoke to Thunder Storms and Lightning! Oh UH what do we do?!? We went to the Natural History Museum on July 18, apparently that day broke the record for rainfall in July LOL! We parked and ran into the Museum, entrance fee was 19$ adult and 14$ for... More

The museum is very small compared to my local museum (Denver Natural History, which doesn't even crack any best of lists), so I was a bit surprised their adult admission fee was $20. The skull exhibit was nice and the other sections with more interactive exhibits are probably good for children. Parking at Balboa Park is a total nightmare. We... More

This is a very good place to visit if you are interested in history of the world and how we all exist together. They have all kinds of exhibitions and they change them all the time. There is always something new to see

Located in Balboa Park, this was such a pleasant day. My only recommendation is to make sure you get the pass to combine the museums or it is quite costly. It is small, but my daughter had a wonderful time with the exhibits. Make sure you go early, because the park has wonderful things to see such as the artisan... More

I was alone on business and took an afternoon at balboa park. Thought I'd try the NAT. It's actually well laid out, great interactive things for the kids. I was impressed with the skulls and Dino area considering the museum is pretty small. Adults - check out the top floor, great photography of birds, really excellent. Beware admission is $19... More

This is a pleasant, airy, and well-designed natural history museum with lots of exhibits that are particularly appealing to children (dinosaurs!). At the moment, though, it is hosting a fabulous exhibit of Mayan history and artifacts. It is extremely hands-on, full of fascinating information, and beautifully laid out. Well worth a visit.
