Great place to people watch, and you can easily sit on the wall and watch volley ball, children building sand castles or just admire the beautiful view of the ocean.

Nice beach in So Cal. We visit every summer. Has the usual beach shops/tshirts/souvenirs, etc. Also has a little amusement park. Great for families, college kids, couples, etc. Not a ton of great food, but that's how CA beaches seem to be!

Rented a condo for a month. Beautiful mornings, with shadows across the sand from the buildings. Sunsets are a great time to reflect on the day. Walks, sunbathing, biking, and the characters that pass by are all part of each interesting day. Not fond of...More

Loved this area!!! We had a blast and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. There were so opportunities to bike, jog, walk or Segway around the beautiful area. Or you could just sit and enjoy the beach

We stayed right on this walkway. It’s a great place to people watch, or to catch the sunset. There are restaurants and shops at either end. Just watch out for the bikes, scooters, etc. It can get a little crowded at times.

Great place to people watch and get in some exercise. Parking is not the greatest and even driving to check out places is not always easy with one way streets etc. but worth checking out to get a vibe for the California beach world.

This is one of the best boardwalks in the world if you like a variety of people with the object to exercise. Afterwards, you can just hang at the beach.

Something must be done about the electric scooters, often driven by un-experienced people, that have taken over the boardwalk. Between those and the bikes, pedestrians have a hard time surviving. Scooter drivers like to drive in schools, all next to each other, and take over...More

The place to people watch and enjoy the ocean. Traffic can be a little thick at times and the rental electric scooters are everywhere so keep your head on a swivel as they zoom by.

I would say, yes. It's the more "family oriented beach in SD. Surf section near Belmont park I reckon.
