I really enjoyed walking down the Municipal Pier at Ocean Beach. It gives you a fantastic view of the coastline, and there's a little restaurant down near the end. Had a great time.

Great place to spend the day. There are several excellent antique stores wining a few blocks. There are also several excellent restaurants. You can't walk a block without seeing a local brewery. It is easy to spend a day (or two) tasting the local nectar.

I recently visited the main street in Ocean Beach with a younger cousin visiting from England. We ate at the newer, hip breakfast republic at the top end of the street which totally made the trip worthwhile! The rest of the street is a little...More

OB is the most popular of the local beaches. With miles of beach, restaurants close by, spectacular sunsets and surfing abounding , what's not to like? Parking at OB can prove difficult. There are thousands of people daily, so don't bring a truckload of gear...More

Lots to see and do, from music to crafts, prepared foods to market purchases, and people watching. Truly an outdoor party.

Ocean beach is the smallest of the beaches along the coast so would not recommend it for lounging or swimming. It has a dog beach section so good if you have your four legged friends with you. Seemed to be more popular with the surfing...More

Nearest beach to where I am staying at the moment. Lots of bars, restaurants, shops along the Main Street. Beach seems clean. Lots of surfers. If you want to swim you have to move a little further up.

Ocean Beach or OB is like no other beach in So Cal outside Venice Beach. The parade never stops during the day along the Boardwalk. Parking is tight but you might get away with parking at a pub if you spend money there. Don't miss...More

I believe so. I have seen tents and canopies before, but you are right no overnight camping.
