Interesting, but a little tiring. Air craft carrier is huge! Lots of stairs and watch your head!! Low overhead entry in cabin quarters!

Best thing in San Diego. 20% of San Diego employment is apparently related to the Navy. This museum is true to life. Fantastic display of many different military aircraft on board a decommissioned aircraft carrier. There is a fighter plane flight simulator which I highly recommend. Very informative museum.

We arrived at 9:30 and were first in line. Booked our tickets ahead of time using Groupon and saved $5 per ticket. Upon the advice of the docents, we went up to the flight deck first and got in the line for the bridge and flight command center, as on a busy day they can only handle a limited number... More

The Midway is a large "museum" , allow for several hours if you are the sort to take in all an attraction has to offer. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. Only hiccup: on the website it states that active Military and firefighters receive complimentary admission. This is only for US personnel. As a Firefighter from Canada I was given half... More

Went with children and grandchildren and had a nice time. Kids loved the size of the carrier. Very impressive. the view from the ship was great. Had lunch on the open deck in the sunshine. Food was good. Drinks and food are available. They had flight simulators you can try. the price is $8.00 per person. Kids loved those. Enjoyed... More

The USS Midway was a great place to visit, expect to spend 2 to 3 hours minimum, we should of gone back a second day to see more. Great displays, they tell you lots about the history etc. Will be back.

I visited here with my naval vet father. We had a great time. The volunteer docents here, almost all of whom are US Navy vets, are full of great information and they are well worth paying attention to. There is a tremendous amount of information here about the evolution of seaborne flight and they have a strong collection of aircraft... More

What a sense of history. Kenny Loggins "Danger Zone" will be playing loudly inside your head as you walk around a 1940s aircraft carrier!!!

The USS Midway is a naval aircraft carrier. The tour is self guided with earphones and an audio track that is included with your admission. You can explore each part of the ship. There are knowledgeable volunteers throughout the ship to answer your questions. If you are lucky you will come across someone who was stationed on this ship. As... More

I'm not particularly interested in US military history but found it very interesting to be able to explore this ship and see how the officers lived their day to day lives. The sheer enormity of the vessel is impressive as is the number of sailors that it formerly housed. I particularly enjoyed learning about the logistics of keeping that many... More
