We toured the ship and it took us around 2.5 hours, I would recommend going to the flight deck first as it is most impressive. You will pay to park so allow for 3 hours or more if you start after lunch as it tends to get busier through the day. Well worth the visit for the younger kids as... More

This is a not to be missed. We timed our visit so we were there on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor and they had a simulcast of the memorial conducted at Pearl Harbor. Very moving. The displays were very well done, but the best parts were when you got to listen to the docents, most of which were veterans, explain... More

We visited the Midway at the urging of our son. Frankly I really had no interest but went for something to do. I was amazed and we spent nearly 5 hours there! The audio tour was so helpful in really giving you a feel for what it was like to live and work on an aircraft carrier. I had no... More

I have been looking forward to visiting the Midway and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. Expect to spend at least 3 hours. Learned a lot from the self-guided tour.

In Old Town San Diego where Mexican cuisine dominates, this eclectic restaurant has interesting dishes from South & Central America. I had fried plantains with garlic cilantro sauce for an appetizer followed by a Peruvian lamb dish. My wife had a costa rican vegan plate with black beans & rice. Good flan for dessert and after a week of crowded,... More

First off plan to walk a lot and climb a lot! This retired aircraft carrier is huge and there is so much to see! Be prepared for lots of climbing and tricky walking through the bulkheads. The most amazing part to me is the actual men who served on the USS Midway are docents in many areas. These retired hero's... More

We visited the USS Midway on the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. They had a large screen set up in the hangar where they were showing the memorial service from Hawaii. It was very moving, especially when they ended with taps and the veterans stood and saluted. The Midway has been masterfully restored and looks as if... More

We had some extra time so decided to visit USS Midway. I truly recommend if you are interested in. Easy to access, friendly people. The upper deck was huge, couldn't imagine.
