I'm told by a local friend that the Casbah is kind of an institution in San Diego among music lovers. It's a bit of a dive, but in a good way - unpretentious and relaxed. It's... read more

The Casbah has got to be one of my absolute favorite places to see a good, loud, rock show. There's a lot of history there, and you can feel it as soon as you walk in the door. There's plenty of room to check out the band or dance. Bars are conveniently located throughout the club. The hole in the... More

This is a grungy place and suits the Rock bands playing there. There was several bands rotating through sets. The first was terrible, second was pretty good, 3rd was ok. It really depends on the night they play what you get. It is loud! There's a pool table that is free and you might want to use to get away... More

Went here to see a friend who was DJing. There was plenty of open space, especially on the dance floor, and the whiskey sour I had was good. The bartenders weren't overly friendly or rude; they just did their job and held conversation if you tried. Overall, it wouldn't be my first choice in San Diego, but if you're around... More

The Casbah is a dive bar, club venue with a small stage (this is part of the charm, or a deterrent depending on your tastes) close proximity to your favorite band, and even closer proximity to people you may not want to meet. It would make for a very exciting night and concert, however the sound was not mixed well,... More

The Casbah is not located in the best part of town, but I went to a show alone last night and didn't have any problems. The venue is tiny but perfect for getting an up-close and personal experience with your favorite artists. They've got a good sound system (it's very loud) and yet you hear nothing from the street. Bathroom... More

I'm told by a local friend that the Casbah is kind of an institution in San Diego among music lovers. It's a bit of a dive, but in a good way - unpretentious and relaxed. It's very small and the stage is not raised up high nor is it curtained off. You see all of the setting up and breaking... More

Great music venue. Strange location with limited parking. The staff are friendly and helpful, but don't expect any frills. I laughed to myself when a customer ordered a pina colada and the bartender's response was "you are in the wrong place for blended drinks." A perfect place to hear some unique bands.

Like the title says, it's a good place to see a show. Or multiple bands playing in different areas. There's a decent enough amount of space, but it's close enough to where you're not squinting or struggling to see who you're there to see. There's a bar in either space and a sort of middle-alley-in-between area that's a bit more... More

I went to the Casbah for the first time last night to see Other Lives perform. I had never been there before, but had heard a lot of good things. The place definitely lives up to the hype. Don't expect much, it's not glitz and glamour, but it's cute and unique. It's much bigger inside than I expected and the... More

Went to a show here for the first time last year, and I'd definitely go for another one. It's a great environment, very intimate, and allows you to really see whom you're there to see. I'm not from San Diego, so had a little trouble with finding it and somewhere to park. I ended up using an airport parking garage... More
