In my opinion, best viewed around mid-morning or just before

Nice archaeological site you can see from the rim. There is a fence in front of the site so expect it in your pictures. Nice trail from the overlook to the site if you want to... read more

Nice archaeological site you can see from the rim. There is a fence in front of the site so expect it in your pictures. Nice trail from the overlook to the site if you want to hike it. It's the only hike you can do in the park without a Navajo guide. The cliff dwelling gets washed out in afternoon... More

This overlook is the trailhead for the path which leads down into the Canyon. Most of the edges at the overlook are unfenced and there are notices about keeping children and pets under control. The views from the overlook are stunning, even if you decide not to do the trek down the cliff-side.

Nice stop along the south road. Easy to see why this canyon has been a welcoming place to live for centuries - towering canyon walls, wandering stream, and green trees and shrubs. Interesting ruins and worth the stop.

This is a viewpoint that overlooks the White House Ruin in Canyon de Chelly National Monument. It is located on South Rim Drive (Rt. 7) about 5.5 miles east of the entrance and visitor center (free admission). The overlook is wheelchair-accessible and there is a restroom available at the parking area. This overlook also serves as the trail head for... More

The overlook provide amazing view of the White House, it is in a very high location so be careful mainly if you are with kids. This stop allows you to walk the trail without a tour guide - enjoy it!

One of the highlights of the South Rim drive. The trail is a little confusing (especially on the return) but go round the full circuit...great views from all angles. Take a long lens if you want to photograph the ruins - they're across the canyon. Gorgeous on a day with some clouds!

Part of the rim drive, this is an amazing overlook. The drop is fatal, so please keep pets and children leashed. ;)

It is an easy walk from the parking lot to this overlook, which is also the start of the only trail into the Canyon without a Navajo guide. A pair of binoculars come in handy.to see this great structure.

White House Overlook is beautiful. Also the trail is the only hike you can do solo into the canyon... Red cliffs, cottonwoods below, rock formations!
