views of the rock formations, lots of curves and ups and downs. We took a short walk at the Calf Creek Campground which is in the Escalante National Monument. Also we stopped at the view points with vast views of the valleys.

The 37 mile stretch between Torrey and Boulder was completed in 1977. Before then, you had to drive 200 miles through Panguitch. As pretty as the section is from Torrey to Boulder, it is SPECTACULAR from Boulder to Escalante. Impossibly built on a knife edge...More

Beautiful drive. Was quite surprised to go through aspen forest. Much more interesting than taking Hwy 62 to get into town..

Beautiful drive! Watch out for deer at night! Worth the extra time to take this route. Just drove slow and enjoy the scenery.

This is our second trip to Capitol Reef and Torrey. Do the Hwy 12 drive. Combine with the loop that goes around the park. Don’t miss it

this road is 120 miles. It took us 6 hous to cover the distance. WHY? Calling it Scenic is like calling the Grand Canyon "a big hole". The views are awesome, the scenery changing from almost fluoro coloured gigantic rock formations, to canyons, to the...More

Greetings, My wife and I took scenic Hwy 12 out of Bryce to Torrey which was our jump off point to Capitol Reef the following day. Mapquest says the drive takes roughly 2.5 hours and well worth every mile. It is not the... More

12 is very beautiful road to drive. 12-24-I 70-191 is the one I took and that will take you through Capitol reef national park to Moab. On 12, you will go through small towns and watch out your speed. One day is pretty... More
