    Breathtaking!
A fun ferry ride gets you to Liberty Island. A narrated tour is included with admission. We also went into the pedestal. It was very, very hot the day we went and there are not a lot of shaded areas so if this is a problem, be prepared. The ferry then takes you to Ellis Island and the immigration museum. We did not tour this attraction, but it appeared to be very popular.

    Awesome experience!
Maybe one of the best sites we visited in New York. We enjoyed it a lot. We booked the crown access 3 months in advance. We boarded the ferry from battery park and got off at liberty island. This iconic statue is beautiful and huge. You cannot take bags, backpacks or even small handbags in to the pedestal or the crown so you'd have to leave them in a locker which will take a quarter. The spiral staircase on to the crown is very narrow so make sure that you wear appropriate shoes. But its a short climb and before you know it you'll be inside the crown! The view from the crown was spectacular. It was not crowded inside the crown the day we went so we could have hanged around as much as we wanted. The museum was very informative and had very good exhibits. There is a gift shop, restaurant and an ice cream shop as well. We then got on to the ferry and got off at the Ellis island. The museum is so big that you'll need at least a whole day to explore all the exhibits and rooms. It was great visit and you'll need at least a day to explore everything.

    Excellent visit to the island
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Liberty Island. The ferry was easy to navigate and we loved getting to see the statue from close up, even as it was raining when we arrived. We ate lunch outside at a table with an umbrella. We did not go up to the pedestal or crown as tickets were sold out, but we did enjoy the well-done museum. The video exhibit of visitor pictures was particularly entrancing as we saw all the countries people were from. The museum was a wonderful addition since I last visited in 1998.

A must for New York City
You need a pre-booked ticket in planning for a visit to the Statue of Liberty. There were multiple websites with different options and varying prices.I went through the Statue of Liberty National Parks Service site and was forwarded to Statue City Cruises .There were 3 options-general admission, pedestal or crown access.General admission included a ferry ride, access to explore Ellis Island and Liberty Island. You can stay as long as you want until the last ferry .There was tight security for entering the statue for the pedestal or crown access. There were lockers to store all your belongings prior to entrance. No bags, food nor drinks.Rental was 25 cents per locker. There was a coin changer on site.Just bring quarters if you can. There were 196 steps to the top of the pedestal. Our small children did the steps with success! There was an elevator as an option which we used in going down. The pedestal was a little disappointing. It was a tight space .The best views and pictures were from the second level -the star level. We didn’t attempt the additional 162 steps to the crown with the young ones in tow. There was no back up elevator for the crown. Amazing
I had been looking forward to this since booking my holiday, it was a short ferry ride to Ellis island well worth the visit . Staff on the ferry very good with wheelchair users and disabled couldn’t fault them in any way . The Statue of Liberty is lovely. A must if your visiting. It’s all wheelchair accessible.

Best view is on the ferry
Caught the ferry on the Jersey side. Recommend leaving early like as soon as they start shuttling which is at 9. You are able to bring your own water and lunch which I suggest or spend money on over priced items. It does get hot so dress and pack accordingly. Gets really crowded around noon so expect a lot of foot traffic. If you’re taking toddlers keep them close because kids do get separated from the family because it’s so busy. The best view is from the ferry. Ellis Island is neat to see iconic because of its history but not too much to see, unless you buy into the tours.

    A wonderful visit
This part of the cruise is awesome. There wasn't to much wait time even if the line was long. It was a nice cruise. The statue is as awesome as I always imagined it would be. I wouldn't recommend visiting Ellis Island though. Especially if it's hot. It takes forever for them to get you off the island.

    Lovely Greeting in the Harbor
We could see it clearly from our cruise ship in the harbor in Brooklyn. And during our visit we could see it from many other vantage points. I always love to gaze at the beauty of the sculpture and thank about its meaning.

    Panoramic views
We did a boat tour of statements island and Statue of Liberty. Beautiful views of New York on the boat. We were here in march so it was extremely cold on the outside deck, if you’re going this time of year I’d recommend you wrap up well! Highly recommend doing this on your visit to New York

Plan ahead and book your trip. If you want to go to the crown, book it three months ahead. We went from the NJ side and had less crowds and lines. My only criticism is that they are not good signs to tell you where to go.

Visiting the Statue of Liberty was an unforgettable experience. The ferry ride from Battery Park offered stunning views of New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline, and up close, the statue's design was amazing.
The pedestal museum provided a rich history of its construction and significance, and climbing to the crown, despite the narrow stairs, rewarded us with breathtaking city views. I highly recommend to anyone visiting New York City.

How could we come to New York and not come here! We had some great weather so was lovely outside where you can get an ice cream. Lots of space to move around in the grounds and yes it can get busy. The walk up to the observation deck is helpfully aided by a steps countdown so you know how much further you have to go and a one way system means you're not competing with people trying to move past you.
The museum needs some work. I think things have been moved around so some of the displays don't match up ... like it talks about the foot in the opposite wall... the opposite wall is blank. It mentions an object to look at, the object has been removed. You do get the idea though and it was a good way to spend a few hours. They're us building work going on but this doesn't take away from the experience

This tour was awesome, all the staff was polite , professional and friendly. The tour guide Darius was the absolute best, he was a gang of personality. Darius made the tour so much fun, he was enegetic, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the city and all the surrounding areas. His singing was a major plus. He has a beautiful voice and gave a professional performance. Darius made the tour and he definitely deserves a pay increase. Thanks Darius, you're awesome!!!!

After visiting NYC many times and only having a look from far away at the Statue of Liberty (which wasn't really overwhelming!), we decided to take the boat tour to visit the Statue of Liberty.

Expectations weren't high, but we absolutly recommend to do this visit!! The Liberty Islands Grounds also offer a very interesting and well curated museum if you want to explore the statue's history.

This was great to look at and walk round but there’s nothing much really to do.

I was prettt disappointed in the size of the statue, maybe films portray it larger?

The whole queuing to get tickets and waiting in the huge security queues and stuffed on a boat was not worth the trip for us personally.

We chose a day with weather a bit more gloomy as we’d seen how big the queues were. This was still the same with cloudy weather.

I’d suggest getting there early 8am to get on the first trips as it takes a long time all together (if you have plans for the rest of the day that is).

The Ellis island was okay we went in to see the registery books but couldn’t find them in the register hall. You could spend a lot of time in here if you are keen for history, but we spent 35 mins and got the ferry back.

It isn’t really wheelchair friendly getting on the boat, staff are very helpful. I didn’t struggle with the pram and the ramps which I imagine an electric wheelchair would really struggle.

Overall great pictures from the boat, but you can get them from the free statton island boat ride instead of paying £50.

However you see Lady Liberty, she’s a must. We’d read many recommendations, that all you needed to do was jump on the free, Statten Island Ferry for a great view. If you’re short on time, that is probably fair, but if you have time you should visit Liberty Island. If you get in early enough you can secure ‘pedestal’ or even ‘crown’ tickets for the same price as your ferry ticket. The museum on the island is really worth a look too

Joseph K was a great tour guide and his presentation was done in a fun, informational way! Since I had bought pedestal/crown tickets, he was extremely helpful in making sure I could finish the tour at Ellis Island and get back to Liberty Island for the pedestal/crown portion! Thanks, Joseph!!

The Statue of Liberty monument and museum was incredibly interesting and 100% a must-see for anyone visiting New York for the first time. We opted for a free audio tour of the island and it was great learning about the history and facts of the statue itself. The museum was equally as interesting and very interactive. Tickets are required to go up inside the statue and are booked months (if not years) in advance, so be sure to schedule accordingly and plan ahead.
