A Must See

I was an Art History major in college so I am definitely biased but I have to rate the Met as a Must See! I hadn't been in a few years so when I was in NYC over MLK weekend I wanted to revisit and I am never disappointed. The permanent collection is expansive and covers every period, style and... More

I was amazed at the wide range of art on display. There was everything from Egyptian pottery and sculpture to modern art. The greek and roman statutes and impressionist galleries are not to be missed. There are several nice Van Goghs and Monets to view. It's nice to see them together to see how they differed in their impressionism. It... More

I really enjoy European history & spent an afternoon touring the European paintings section - too many interesting paintings to comments on. If you find that you aren't a huge art person, you might still like the Egyptian area as it as much archeology as it is art

We recently went to see the Max Beckmann exhibit, which was excellent. When finished, we find the great artists works spread throughout: Monet, Manet, Corot , Van Gogh - endless opportunities to appreciate art. This time we were mesmerized by the sculpture garden. Never gets old.

We saw this world class art museum, a famous place to visit in NYC but plan to spend a few hours or a day as the place is huge. The place was packed during my visit which was the day before Thanksgiving but heard the weekends it is over crowded. While there is a standard fee plan on providing a... More

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a world-class museum with so much to see. So definitely need to spend at least a couple hours here. The place was packed during my visit (easter). So I cannot rent an audio guide, which is a bit let down of the overall experience. But they do have a free app to service as... More

Great museum - definitely worth visiting. We have enjoyed it a lot. When planning your visit consider spending there at least 5 hours for a quick review of all exhibitions, and whole day for a thorough review, but even this might be not enough. Also, I liked a system of "pay as much as you can" if you want to... More

Wanted to meet a friend there, I was required to purchase museum tickets. I didn't get in. Scandal that you need to but museum tickets to get a drink.
